So far, the Southern California Regional Division V final has lived up to its billing.

Santa Clara fell behind 9-3 in the first four minutes but rallied to even the score 9-9 in the final 35 seconds before freshman center LaJahna Drummer made a layup with five seconds remaining to give St. Bernard an 11-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
