Golf: Teams advance to Southern Section finals

It was a Trinity League sweep of the top three places at the Southern Team Divisional golf finals Monday at Tijeras Creek Golf Club.

Santa Ana Mater Dei, Santa Margarita and Anaheim Servite were the three teams to qualify for Thursday’s Southern Section Ford presented by Farmers team finals at Mission Lakes Country Club.

In the Western Division, Fullerton Sunny Hills, Los Angeles Loyola and Diamond Bar were the qualifiers. West Hills Chaminade, one of the top teams also season, finished fifth. In the Central Division, Los Alamitos, Brea and Mira Costa advanced.

In the Northern Division, Saugus, West Ranch and Westlake advanced.

In the Eastern Division, Riverside Poly, Corona Santiago and Palm Desert qualified. In the Central Coast, Righetti, Dos Pueblos and Ventura advanced.

The teams that finished first all are recognized as Southern Section champions.
