Baseball: Tough competition gets you respect

If an athlete or team wants respect, then facing tough competition is the way to go. Take the case of Marc Huberman, a senior-to-be left-handed pitcher from Los Angeles Hamilton.
He threw three shutout innings on Saturday at the Southwest Future All-Star Series at the Urban Youth Academy, and that singular performance makes him a pitcher to watch in the City Section.
It’s sometimes difficult to tell who has ability when schools aren’t playing against top teams, but Huberman took advantage of his opportunity, and now lots of more people know he has ability.
With the City Section lacking in returning pitchers, Huberman could be an ace next spring. He’s also set to play quarterback for the football team.
