Point guards usually focus on passing the ball, but senior Chass Bryan from Westlake Village Oaks Christian and junior Jaron Martin from West Hills Chaminade have become big-time scorers in early summer ball.
Bryan scored 37 points in a game against Calabasas. Martin pumped in 44 points in a game against Agoura and made seven consecutive three-pointers, according to Coach Todd Wolfson.
When it comes to a developing big man, few have the upside of 6-foot-8 Zena Edosomwan from Studio City Harvard-Westlake. He made an unofficial visit to UCLA on Monday and leaves Tuesday for a national camp in Virginia. He had several dunks in the Wolverines’ 48-45 win over Woodland Hills El Camino Real at Taft on Monday night. His potential is off the charts.
A five-day Crespi tournament begins on Tuesday. Loyola, Fairfax, Orange Lutheran and Chaminade are among the schools entered.
