Is there any way Mission Hills Alemany and Long Beach Poly could meet to settle No. 1 in seven-on-seven passing?
Alemany won its fourth tournament of the summer on Saturday, beating Ventura St. Bonaventure in the championship game of the L.A. Valley College tournament. Alemany defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in the semifinals while St. Bonaventure defeated St. Francis.
Quarterback Devon Dunn, up from junior varsity, has made a smooth transition taking over the offense after the graduation of Vernon Adams.
Alemany Coach Dean Herrington singled out receivers Devin Ross and Steven Mitchell, defensive back Jerico Richardson and linebacker Bryce Henderson. Alemany has won the Pierce College, College of the Canyons and Conejo Valley tournaments this summer. Last year, the Warriors advanced to the Pac-5 semifinals.
