Football: It’s a big game for Eamon McOsker

Los Angeles Loyola improved to 5-1 with a 28-10 victory over Valencia on Saturday night at Valley College. The standout for the Cubs was receiver-safety Eamon McOsker.
He had kickoff returns of 66 and 69 yards. He caught a nine-yard touchdown pass from Nicolas Cotton and returned a fumble 66 yards for another touchdown.
Loyola’s special teams were outstanding. Conrad Ukropina had punts of 65, 57 and 51 yards and each of his kickoffs resulted in a touchback.
Kodi Whitfield caught five passes for 104 yards. The Cubs held a 14-3 halftime lead. Valencia dropped to 2-3.
Both teams were missing key players because of injuries. Defensive back Chaz Anderson didn’t play for Loyola. Defensive back Tedric Thompson didn’t play for Valencia.
Loyola gets next week off before opening Serra League play against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.
