Anaheim Servite has won or shared the last six Trinity League championships, and the Friars are still waiting to see if anyone intends to challenge them this season. Time is running out.
On Friday night, Santa Margarita (7-1, 2-1) faces Bellflower St. John Bosco (6-2, 2-1) at Saddleback College in a battle for second place. A win by Santa Margarita would set up a regular-season finale for the Trinity League title next week against Servite.
St. John Bosco is going to have to deal with Santa Margarita’s powerful rushing attack. But the Braves also have their own weapons on offense. Senior quarterback Rene Medina is showing great improvement, having passed for 1,655 yards and 16 touchdowns with four interceptions. Key to a St. John Bosco victory will be protecting Medina from sacks.
