Lake Balboa Birmingham (7-2, 4-0) is back on top in the West Valley League for the first time since 2007 thanks to junior running back Isaiah Hastings, who has been putting together one great game after another in league play.
He had 167 yards rushing and 90 yards receiving on Friday night in a 48-7 thumping of Woodland Hills El Camino Real.
‘He’s 180 pounds and doesn’t look it,’ Coach Jim Rose said. ‘He’s solid. He keeps going.’
The Patriots’ defense was also outstanding behind middle linebacker Adrian Mora.
