Football: An all-star coaching lineup for UCLA to consider

Let’s say I was given the authority to put together a new coaching staff for UCLA filled with high school coaches from Southern California. Here’s who I would hire:
Offensive coordinator: Harry Welch of Santa Margarita. He’s one of the best play callers around.
Quarterbacks: Jim Benkert of Westlake. He knows how to coach the position.
Running backs: Jim Bonds of St. Francis. He is an ex-UCLA quarterback who works well with the Herrington brothers.
Receivers: Dean Herrington of Alemany. He knows quarterbacks and receivers.
Offensive line: Mike Herrington of Hart. There’s no one better teaching the fundamentals.
Defensive coordinator: Troy Thomas of Servite. He studies, he listens, he fires up players.
Defensive line: Jon Mack of Crespi. Don’t mess with Mack. He’d give Ed Orgeron trouble.
Linebackers: Matt Logan of Corona Centennial. Anyone who created Vontaze Burfict can handle this.
Defensive backs: Steve Bogan of South Hills. He was a two-time all-star at Cal Lutheran.
Special teams: Kevin Rooney of Notre Dame. Kickers are part of Notre Dame tradition.
Recruiting coordinator: Elijah Asante of Carson. He can talk and sell anything. .
And the head coach choice is obvious. The only one who could handle all the egos is Bill Redell of Oaks Christian. And he knows how to recruit.
Bring on the Trojans.
