Encino Crespi has been given permission to use the field formerly used by the Van Nuys Montclair Prep baseball program next to Harvard-Westlake’s O’Malley Field in Encino.
Hartunian Field will be used by the Celts for practice and home games. Several schools sought use of the field after Montclair Prep dropped its sports program. The agreement is only for this spring and Crespi will be responsible for maintenance.
‘I love the field,’ Coach Scott Muckey said.
It is so close to Harvard-Westlake’s facility that players and coaches can hang out, chat and watch each other if they want.
Crespi will still play night games against Alemany and Notre Dame at Birmingham High. And when Crespi plays Harvard-Westlake, the players won’t get lost walking from one field to the other.
