Boys’ basketball: Roschon Prince scores 31 points in Poly victory

No. 1-ranked Long Beach Poly opened Moore League play on Monday night with a 92-43 victory over Cabrillo. Roschon Prince scored 27 of his 31 points in the first half. Poly is 5-0.

In the Inland Empire Invitational, Kenny Barnes scored 25 points and had 10 rebounds and Jordan McLaughlin added 15 points and eight assists in Etiwanda’s 76-22 win over Canyon Springs.

Rancho Cucamonga defeated Summit, 77-43, behind Victor Joseph’s 14 points.

Chino Hills defeated Lakeside, 83-48. Lonzo Ball scored 15 points and Mark Williams 12.

In the Beverly Hills tournament, Village Christian improved to 7-0 with a 79-41 win over St. Bernard. Marsalis Johnson scored 26 points and Bryan Alberts 23.

Buckley made 16 three-pointers in an 88-21 win over Santa Clarita Christian. Chase Holliday and Andrew Schianterelli each made four three-pointers.

Cesar Reyes scored 33 points and had eight assists as Sun Valley Poly defeated St. Genevieve, 64-60.

In the Azusa tournament, Mike Peters scored 27 points and had 10 rebounds and nine assists in Covina’s 60-48 win over Temple City. Azusa defeated El Monte, 58-50, with Kevin Perez scoring 21 points. Jorge Caldera had 25 points for El Monte. Nnadi Udengwu had 21 points in Diamond Ranch’s 60-41 win over Mountain View.
