Now that Mater Dei is playing Etiwanda in Saturday’s Southern Section Division 1AA championship game at the Anaheim Convention Center, how can we not remember the last time these two teams played in the 2010 final and the controversial finish.
That was the game in which a now famous no-call of an obvious foul happened in the final seconds, enabling Mater Dei to escape with a 68-65 win over Etiwanda.
Etiwanda’s Evan Jenkins went up for a three-point shot trying to tie the game. There was contact but no foul called. Above is video on the play.
