On Saturday morning, Westlake High will host Chaminade in the first of what figures to be many seven-on-seven spring and summer passing competitions involving area high school teams.
Chaminade has returning 6-foot-4 quarterback Brad Kaaya, who’s being looked at by Stanford, Miami and Oklahoma State. ‘He’s going to get a bunch of offers,’ Coach Ed Croson said.
Miami offered Kaaya on Thursday.
Westlake will look at returnee Tommy Gonzales and Weston Massett, up from the sophomore team, at quarterback.
Chaminade has finalized its scheduled for this fall and will start out by scrimmaging City Section Division I champion Harbor City Narbonne. The Eagles also have nonleague games against Venice, Hart, Valencia, Oaks Christian and Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Chaminade is expected to battle it out with Gardena Serra in the Mission league and Western Division.
