Track: Sarah Baxter, Lavan Alston receive Ventura County honors

Distance runner Sarah Baxter from Simi Valley and sprinter Lavan Alston from St. Bonaventure have been selected the male and female track athletes of the year by the Ventura County Coaches’ Assn.

The sprinters of the year are Abigail Smith of Westlake and Gabe Wirtz of Simi Valley.

The hurdlers of the year are Alex Cerise of La Reina and Jelani Legohn of Oxnard. The distance runners of the year are Hannah Kirkegaard of Ventura and Mikey Giguere of Westlake. The throwers of the year are Katelynn Homb of Ventura and Eric Beilke of Ventura.

The jumpers of the year are Erinn Beattie of Buena and Indrees Bernard of Agoura. The vaulters of the year are Holly Tokar of Ventura and Luigi Colella of Thousand Oaks.
