Cuba Asked to Return Plane Hijacker to U.S.

WASHINGTON — The United States has asked Cuba to return to American custody a convicted mass murderer who hijacked an American Airlines flight to Cuba on Monday, the State Department said Wednesday.
The Virgin Islands-to-New York flight was hijacked by a man identified as Ishmael Ali LaBeet, who was detained by Cuban authorities on arrival in Havana while the remaining passengers were flown on to their destination.
