Anderson, Wapnick Chosen Early in Draft
The New York Mets made Valley College pitcher Michael Anderson their first selection in the regular phase of baseball’s annual winter draft Wednesday.
Anderson, a sophomore right-hander, was the 19th player chosen in the first round.
Steve Wapnick, a pitcher from Moorpark College, was also an early selection.
The San Diego Padres drafted the hard-throwing right-hander in the second-round.
