Garden Grove Man, 20, Arrested in Kidnaping, Rape of Woman, 22
A Garden Grove man was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with the kidnaping, rape and robbery of a 22-year-old Garden Grove woman, Stanton police said.
Mario Fidel Infante, 20, was arrested at about 3:30 near Newland Street and the Garden Grove Freeway overpass in Garden Grove, a Stanton police spokesman said.
The woman was approached near the corner of Beach and Garden Grove boulevards and was forced to drive to an apartment complex off Newland Street in Garden Grove, where she was robbed of an undetermined amount of money and raped, the spokesman said.
The woman told officers she escaped and ran to nearby apartments, where she called police. Police responded to the call and arrested Infante on suspicion of rape as he fled the scene on foot. Infante was booked into Orange County Jail.
