Police Seek 3 Men in Kidnaping, Rape of Yorba Linda Schoolgirl, 13
A 13-year-old Yorba Linda girl was abducted and raped Monday after she was lured into a van by three men, Yorba Linda police reported.
The girl was picked up near the corner of Fairmont and Yorba Linda boulevards in Yorba Linda about 2 p.m. as she was walking to a store, Detective Doug Dickerson said.
The men, described as white, 16 to 20 years old and of medium build, had stopped the girl and asked for directions to the Brea Mall, Dickerson said.
After she was lured into the dark-colored van, one of the men raped the girl while another drove, the detective said. She was dropped off about 30 minutes later near the place where she was abducted, close to the Country Club Village shopping center, he said.
Dickerson said the girl went home immediately, but police were not notified until 8:25 p.m. Monday.
He said she was not in school Monday because of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. “She was home alone,” he said. “She wanted to wait until her mother came home before she reported the rape.”
The girl was treated at Placentia-Linda Hospital and released, Dickerson said.
