Sen. Alan Cranston (D-Calif.), one of the Senate’s leading advocates of limiting nuclear weapons, said that he will not pursue nuclear freeze legislation until he sees whether the Reagan Administration succeeds in its efforts to reach an arms control accord with the Soviet Union. Cranston told reporters at a Washington breakfast that it is “better to let the Administration seek to do what it can without trying to second-guess them” and said he does not plan for now “to invest much of my time or capital” in a freeze effort.
