A Davis teen-ager was sentenced to six years in the California Youth Authority for the stabbing death of a Vietnamese student during a school fight. James (Jay) Pierman, 18, was convicted last October in Contra Costa Superior Court of the voluntary manslaughter of Thong Hy Huynh, 17, at Davis High School in May, 1983. Although Pierman was only 16 when the crime occurred, he was tried as an adult.
