SALT LAKE CITY — A man jumped from a two-story balcony to the marble floor of the Utah State Capitol today just moments before the Legislature was about to begin its morning session.
The man, whose identity was withheld, gave no warning before he jumped about 50 feet from the balcony in front of dozens of witnesses, security officers said. The man survived and appeared to be talking to paramedics as they lifted him onto a stretcher and carried him from the Capitol Rotunda.
