Death Cause Told in Crash at Motel
An autopsy has determined that Maurice Eugene Henderson, 37, of San Clemente, died of head injuries when his car rammed into Room 1 of the Smoke Tree Inn in San Clemente, a county coroner’s spokesman said Monday.
The coroner will continue tests to determine whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident early Sunday morning, in which Henderson drove through the wall of the motel, Deputy Richard Slaughter said.
Susie Faylor, 29, of Torrance, who was in the room at the time, was treated by paramedics for minor cuts, San Clemente Police Lt. Al Ehlow said.
