Katella Breaks Into the Top 10
Katella High School, riding a nine-game winning streak, broke into the Top 10 of the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep basketball poll this week in the ninth position.
The Knights (14-3) opened play in the Empire League with two straight losses but have since rebounded to win their tournament and add six consecutive league victories. Katella meets eighth-ranked El Dorado on Wednesday in the Hawks’ gym in the featured game of the week.
Mater Dei (19-0) remained the top-ranked team, a position the Monarchs have had since the season opened.
