District attorney’s investigators said a Los Angeles police officer acted in self-defense when he shot and killed a man who was under the influence of PCP as he tried to take the officer’s gun. Deputy Dist. Atty. Richard Healey said that Bartolome Quinonez, 23, was a PCP dealer who was discovered last July in a vacant house in the 1400 block of West 227th Street by Officer K. J. Baitz. The two struggled over control of the officer’s service revolver. Baitz fired the weapon several times, killing the man.
