Freeway League : McGrath Scores Five Points in Overtime to Lead Troy High Past Sunny Hills, 54-53
Mike McGrath made a basket and three free throws to score all five of Troy High School’s points in overtime to give the Warriors a 54-53 Freeway League win over Sunny Hills in the Lancers’ gym on Wednesday night.
The victory improved Troy’s record to 2-3 in league and 6-11 overall. Sunny Hills is 2-3, 8-11.
The Lancers had rolled out to a 14-6 lead after one period but the Warriors rallied to tie the score at 19-19 at halftime.
Troy had a chance to win the game in regulation with four seconds left. With Sunny Hills holding a 49-48 lead, Shawn Flynn made a free throw to tie the score. Flynn also made a second free throw, but it was disallowed when Flynn crossed the free throw line early and was cited for a lane violation.
McGrath scored a game-high 17 points. Flynn added 13. Dexter Jenkins led the Lancers with 15 points. Mike Lutz and Craig Glatzhofer added 12 each.

Fullerton 46, Sonora 33--The Indians held the Raiders to just two field goals in the first half and just nine for the game at Fullerton. Senior guard Richard Carnesi led Fullerton (4-1, 13-6) with 14 points and forward Brett Harrill added 10.
Mike Samuelson led Sonora (2-3, 5-11) with 14 points.

Buena Park 63, La Habra 61--The Coyotes’ Pete Ybarra scored all six of his points in the last four minutes to help Buena Park to a close win at home.
The Coyotes could have put the game away in the final minute, but missed the front end of two one-and-one opportunities in the final 15 seconds. Aurelio Solis led La Habra (1-4, 5-12) with 16 points. Reggie Brown had 15 points for Buena Park before fouling out with a minute to play.
