Freeway League : Troy Upsets Fullerton, 51-49
Troy High School converted 6 of 8 free throws late in the fourth quarter to hold off Fullerton and take a 51-49 upset victory at home in Freeway League action Wednesday.
The Warriors (3-4 in league) had a three-point lead after three quarters. They were led by Greg Nelson who scored 12 points. Fullerton’s Brent Harrill had a game-high 14 points.
FULLERTON (49)--Harrill 14, Tallant 12, Zerga 2, Hamblin 11, Boone 8, Perez 2.
TROY (51)--Edwards 8, Flynn 8, Markley 2, McGrath 11, Shirota 2, Welch 8, Nelson 12.
La Habra 53, Sonora 42--Eric Zaluske’s 22 points led the Highlanders to victory at Sonora (3-4 in league). David Debereux added 12 points and Mike Samuelson had 10 points and 15 rebounds for La Habra (2-5).
LA HABRA (53)--Esparza 4, Stevens 8, Zaluske 22, Hamano 8, Martinez 9, Sciacca 2.
SONORA (42)--Samuelson 10, Carbajal 10, Debereux 12, Eunis 2, Naber 2, Gifford 6.
Buena Park 70, Sunny Hills 65--Reggie Brown scored 29 points to lead the Coyotes to victory at Sunny Hills. Buena Park leads the league with a 6-1 mark. Craig Glatzhofer had 20 points for the Lancers (3-4).
