Group Gets $20,000 for Valley Cultural Facilities
A long-delayed campaign to build large cultural facilities in Woodland Hills and Encino has been bolstered by $20,000 in corporate grants, a campaign official has announced.
Luke Bandle, general manager of the Woodland Hills-based Cultural Foundation, said the nonprofit fund-raising group has received a $15,000 grant from the Union Bank Corp. and $5,000 grant from the California Community Foundation.
The unrestricted grants will be used to help organize a “bricks-and-mortar” drive for an arts park and a theater complex on sites in the Sepulveda Basin and in Warner Center Park, Bandle said.
The Cultural Foundation, an umbrella group representing a variety of Valley-based business and cultural organizations, is planning to formally launch the $40- to $60-million drive in the spring.
