Titan Women Sweep Cal State Northridge
The Cal State Fullerton women’s softball team swept Cal State Northridge, 1-0 and 5-0, Wednesday night to improve its record to 6-0.
Lisa Norigea’s RBI double in the bottom of the 10th inning made pitcher Debbie Mygend a winner in the first game. She pitched a complete-game two-hitter. Susan LeFevbre went the distance on a four-hitter in the nightcap, and received offensive support from Michelle Gromacki, who homered in the third inning, and Teri O’Berg, who had two hits and two RBIs.
In community college softball action:
Santa Ana 7, College of the Desert 1 (6 innings)--Lani Silva’s two-run home run in the first inning sparked the Dons to the nonconference win at College of the Desert.
Pitcher Chris Makimoto (2-0) gave up just two hits for the Dons (5-0). Santa Ana plays Ventura College at 11 a.m. Friday in the Citrus Tournament.
