Local News in Brief : Tarzana Man Arrested in Shooting Death
An early morning argument in the driveway of a Tarzana home left one man dead and led to the arrest of another man Friday on suspicion of murder.
Police said that Dennis Joseph Choiniere, 32, of Van Nuys, Richard Alan Forrest, 26, of Tarzana and a third man were arguing in front of Forrest’s house in the 19600 block of Hatteras Street at 1 a.m. when Forrest allegedly shot Choiniere in the chest with a small-caliber handgun.
Choiniere was driven to Tarzana Medical Center where he was pronounced dead two hours later, police said.
Forrest was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was being held Friday in the West Valley Jail.
Police said the other man involved in the argument was still being sought. Police would not disclose the cause of the argument.
