Heart Patient Haydon ‘Doing Real Well’
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Artificial heart patient Murray P. Haydon’s spirits are “excellent,” he is gaining strength and he may be released from his intensive-care unit this week, hospital officials said Friday.
“I talked to him this morning,” Robert Irvine, spokesman for Humana Hospital Audubon said. “His spirits are excellent. Each day he is better.”
“Officially he is listed as critical but he is doing real well,” Irvine said.
Haydon underwent surgery March 2 to correct a bleeding problem he experienced after doctors removed monitoring lines from the area around his plastic and metal heart.
