License Granted to First Louisiana Nuclear Plant

WASHINGTON — The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted a full-power operating license to Louisiana’s first nuclear power plant.
The NRC on Friday approved the license after finding that cracks in the foundation of the Waterford reactor could withstand the shock of an earthquake.
