Portland’s Casey Has Five RBIs in 10-5 Win Over USD
SAN DIEGO — The University of San Diego and Portland each had 12 hits, but the Pilots made better use of them in a 10-5 victory over host USD.
Portland center fielder Brian Casey went 4 for 4 with a triple, two home runs and five RBIs. Robbie Rogers was 4 for 5 with an RBI and three runs scored for USD. Second baseman Paul Van Stone had three hits for the Toreros.
John McPherson (2-0) was the winner for Portland, now 8-2. Mark Hawblitzel (2-3) was the loser for USD (9-17-1).
