More Spent on Health

Washington — Americans are spending 10 times more money on health care than they were 23 years ago, says the Health Insurance Assn. of America. The nation’s 1983 health care expenditures are estimated at $362.3 billion, or $1,560 for each man, woman and child. By contrast, health expenditures in 1960 totaled $26.9 billion, or about $150 for each person.
