WE’RE FOR AFRICA
You asked for an exegesis of A.I. Collins’ “We Are the Wool” parody of the “We Are the World” lyric (Calendar Letters, April 7). Try this one on for sighs: I think he was not only lambasting the group for their shear effort in putting out the record, but also lambenting the fleecing that the customers flocking to buy it got.
It was a motton-y in the ranks, inspired by Collins, who meant to impart that the record would not get Africa into sheep-shape because it was so b-a-a-d.
