Some years back we used to look at “Made in Japan” items in local stores as cheaply made trinkets not deserving of our patronage. How things have changed! Japanese merchandise today, ranging from electronics to automobiles, is far superior in quality and price to comparable “Made in America” products.
Perhaps the Japanese ability to imitate and produce inexpensively is a big factor. Their introduction of the small car, however, caught America off guard. It’s not unpatriotic to purchase items of quality and price when it’s coming out of your pocket.
