Fresno Area Real Estate Activity Rises
Real estate activity increased during 1984 in the Fresno-Clovis area, according to the 1985 Housing Report of the Center for Business Research & Service at California State University Fresno.
Sales of residential property through the Fresno Multiple Listing Service totaled 2,170 homes during 1984, a 14% increase over 1983 but well below the 1978 peak of 5,031 homes sold.
Building activity during 1984 continued the upward trend that began in 1983 following the all-time low in 1982. Single-family housing construction increased by nearly 500 units to 1,971 in 1984 and multifamily construction nearly doubled, for the second year in a row, to 2,207.
