$1,000 AWARDED

UC Irvine drama student August Lobato Jr. was awarded the $1,000 Steve Lyle Memorial Scholarship for excellence in drama. The scholarship was established recently as a memorial to Lyle, a graduate of UCI and Mission Viejo High School, who was killed last summer in an automobile accident.

Lobato, a senior in drama at UCI who has appeared in a number of UCI productions as well as in South Coast Repertory’s touring production “Second Lives,” plans to attend graduate school and pursue acareer in acting.
