2 S. Africa Mining Firms Bombed

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — Bombs rocked the headquarters of two giant gold mining companies today hours after they agreed to rehire nearly 17,000 black mine workers fired for staging an illegal strike for higher wages.
A police spokesman said three explosions within 30 seconds ripped through offices of the Anglo Vaal mining company and the Anglo-American Corp. There were no injuries, he said.
