Two Children Say They Fabricated Sex Abuse Stories
JORDAN, Minn. — Two children said in a televised interview that they fabricated sexual abuse stories against their parents and others because they were tired of being questioned by investigators.
The 10-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son of Tom and Helen Brown of Jordan said Friday that they were questioned two or three times a week for months.
The Browns were among 25 people charged by Scott County Atty. Kathleen Morris with sexually abusing children. One man pleaded guilty, two other defendants were acquitted and charges against the others were dropped.
“They questioned us one time from 6 o’clock in the morning until 10 o’clock at night,” the girl told a reporter. “I told them what they wanted to hear. I told them lies.”
The boy said that he made up allegations that sex abuse victims were murdered because he wanted to “get even” with authorities for taking him from his parents.
Morris removed 27 children from their homes last year during her investigation of an alleged child-sex ring in Jordan.
