An fire Monday at a Wendy’s restaurant caused an estimated $500,000 damage to the structure and contents and took firefighters 33 minutes to control, according to the El Cajon Fire Department.
The blaze was reported at 1:46 a.m., and five fire engines were called to the 6000 block of Jamacha Road. The Santee Fire Department and the California Department of Forestry assisted in extinguishing the flames. The restaurant was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
