Home State Savings Bank offices were reopened.
Customers of the failed thrift getting access to their money for the first time in three months, turned out sporadically as the thrift’s 33 branches were reopened under new owners. Home State had about 75,000 customers with nearly 90,000 accounts who were cut off from $520-million in deposits when it failed to open March 9. Hunter Savings Assn., a division of American Financial Corp., outbid Chemical New York for all 33 branches, then sold 10 offices each to AmeriTrust of Cleveland and First National, a Cincinnati bank holding company.
