Fire Guts House in North Hollywood
A fire that broke out about noon Sunday destroyed an empty house in North Hollywood, the Fire Department reported.
A department spokesman estimated damage to the house at 7243 Irvine Ave. at $77,000. The fire spread to a house next door, causing $1,000 in damage to the roof, he said.
A spark also burned a spot on the roof of another nearby house, causing $100 in damage, the spokesman added.
The Fire Department was called at 12:19 p.m. and put out the blaze in the empty house 12:30 p.m. The cause is under investigation.
