The ex-wife of a survivalist suspected in numerous murders at a remote mountain compound has received death threats and her lawyer said she would make no further comment on the case until authorities grant her immunity from prosecution. Numerous death threats against Claralyn (Cricket) Balazs have been recorded, said Stan Rozanski, Balazs’ attorney. Balazs and survivalist Leonard Lake, who committed suicide in jail, met and married in 1981 and separated the next year. She is a co-owner of the site in Calaveras County, about 150 miles east of San Francisco, where authorities say about 25 people may have been tortured and murdered. “Balazs has been most helpful with police investigations in what has been known as the Calaveras County murders and, at this point in time, she has been advised that she not make further comment until she be granted full state and federal immunity,” Rozanski said of his client at a news conference.
