Truck With 19 Aboard Crashes; Driver Held

AMITE, La. — The driver of a pickup truck jammed with 19 persons who had been at a swimming party faces criminal charges in an accident that killed two and injured the others, authorities said Monday.
Maggie F. Franklin, 36, of Greensburg was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain control, said Trooper Carl Bennett. She suffered minor injuries in the accident, which occurred Sunday evening.
