. . . But He Makes No Blunder on This One
On Jim Murray’s beautiful article “The All-Star Blunder,” what should be added is that lawyers and lawyer-agents have messed up sports and most other endeavors outside of law. Namely, the movie business that they now run. The deficits of the major studios are now in the hundreds of millions. They wouldn’t know a hit movie if it fell on them.
So it’s easy to see how they have messed up baseball. Their astronomical salaries are why a lousy 10-ounce cup of flat beer costs two bucks. Outer space has the black hole; we poor earth fans have Marvin Miller.
