Associated Press
THE HAGUE, Netherlands — The unemployment rate in the Netherlands continued its downward trend last month, the Social Affairs Ministry announced.
By the end of May, 772,800 people were out of work, down 1,500 from the previous month, according to preliminary figures released by the ministry. About 16% of the Dutch work force is now jobless.
The figures are corrected for seasonal factors and do not include the estimated 600,000 receiving state disability payments.
