Urgent Care Centers of America Inc. said it will change its name to ReadiCare Inc. The Irvine company operates 24 ReadiCare medical facilities in California and Nevada that specialize in occupational and industrial medicine. The company also announced that it has acquired Pacific Industrial Medical Clinic in Burlingame for an undisclosed amount of cash and the assumption of debt, which together total $485,000.
Codercard Inc. of Irvine said it signed an agreement with TRW’s Information Networks Division to supply Codercard’s security systems for use in the TRW Concept 2000 computer system. Value of the contract was not revealed.
Robert Gray, senior vice president of marketing for Codercard, predicted that by 1990 Codercard would be the leader in a $220-million portion of the market for computer security systems. He said that current losses to American business from unauthorized computer use totals more than $100 billion a year.
Gray said the company’s decoder card would be able to solve several different security problems, such as unauthorized access, software piracy and the protection of data files.
