And Now, Here Are Some Kind Words for Cleveland
We read your article about Brett Butler and your disparaging remarks about Cleveland. We feel it is time to let the L.A. Times know that we have been insulted once too often.
We were born and raised in Cleveland and will always be loyal to that city as we are to the Cleveland Indians and the Browns. We resent your remark about “the mistake by the lake” or the Siberia of baseball. We feel it is time to let you know that some of us are not ashamed of our roots.
How about the 1948 world champion Indians? Or the 1954 Indians’ 111 victories? Do you remember the Browns of Otto Graham and later, Jim Brown? Stop kicking a city when it is down.
