OPINION WORSHIP
Hey! What’s going on here? I thought Calendar was a sanctuary from the wretched pages of Opinion.
Look, so what if “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” didn’t show up in a 12-year-old’s copy of the Constitution until David Heimburger decided “happiness” was the same as “property” (Calendar Letters, July 14 and 21).
And besides, didn’t Jefferson steal that silly phrase from a Third Estate Englishman named John Locke? Let’s unplug the word processors belonging to historical hackers and get on with the important business of idol worship.
I mean, really. Isn’t that what Calendar is all about?
