Baboon Research

James J. Kilpatrick’s article (Editorial Pages, July 23) concerning the misuse of baboons for head-injury research invoked feelings of outrage and helplessness.

If a “respected” research center at the University of Pennsylvania could allow sadistic employees to handle these helpless creatures, imagine what must be taking place at lesser research facilities across the country!

I’m sure that the baboon incident is just the “tip of the iceberg.”
